How to extend the life of the clutch release bearing of the internal combustion forklift


The release bearing of the internal combustion forklift clutch works frequently, and the number of damages accounts for a large proportion of the forklift failure. If the driver operates properly and maintains it in time, the bearing can be used for about 3 months, but it must be replaced when it is repaired.

If the driver’s skill level is low, the forklifts they drive will have their release bearings damaged almost every month, and other parts, such as release levers and clutch plates, will be damaged after damage, which will significantly increase the material cost for equipment maintenance.

What is the reason why the clutch release bearing is easily damaged? In practice, although the driver was strictly required to drip oil once a day on the release bearing, this was not only cumbersome to operate, but the bearing was still often damaged. After analysis, it is believed that because the high temperature of the engine is transmitted to the release bearing, and the high-speed rotation of the bearing also produces high temperature, it is difficult for the oil to stay in the bearing under this condition. The bearing works continuously at high temperature and the lubrication condition is not good. Reasons for frequent damage.

In response to the above problems, it has also been tested to heat the bearing in the grease to make the grease soak into the bearing. After this treatment, although the grease can fill the bearing, the structure of the grease after high temperature treatment is damaged and the performance is great. The range is reduced, the effect of using this method is not ideal, and the service life of the bearing is not prolonged. We have also used a sharp-nosed grease gun to directly grease the release bearing. After installation on the car, after observation and testing, the service life of the bearing is greatly prolonged. This oil injection method has received satisfactory results, but the operation is more complicated. Then they explored adding butter without disintegrating the engine. First, it was successfully tried on the 475c engine, and then on the 475c, 480, and 492 engines, and they all received good results.

After repeated practice, improvement, and summing up experience, a set of relatively simple oil injection operation methods has been formed. The specific process is as follows:

(L) The oil injection method without disassembly of the engine. First open the clutch cover and observe the wear of the release bearing. If it is confirmed that the bearing is not damaged or the wear does not exceed the limit, remove the clutch pedal and adjust the connecting rod pin to make the release bearing and its Return the seat to the * position, and use a sharp-nose grease gun to fill the hole of the bearing seat with grease until the bearing has oil overflow, then turn the bearing a little bit, fill the oil again, and repeat the above work until a little butter overflows around the bearing. Rotate the bearing again and observe the amount of oil. If you feel resistance to the rotation of the bearing, it proves that the bearing has been filled with butter. Then remove a small amount of butter overflowing from all parts of the release bearing seat, and reassemble the removed pins and clutch cover.

(2) The oil injection method for engine disintegration. Disassemble the engine to expose the assembly parts of the release bearing and the bearing housing. Use a sharp-nose grease gun to add oil to the small oil hole under the inner ring of the release bearing housing. All the circles are filled with butter. After the above two methods are processed, the release bearing can no longer be refueled within half a year.

After the trial of this oil injection method at Hengshui Railway Station, the mechanical integrity rate has been significantly improved and significant economic benefits have been achieved. It can save material costs; increase the loading and unloading capacity, and each unit can increase the loading and unloading capacity by 30t per month.
