As the core components of new energy vehicles, the demand for IGBT has also benefited from this. At the same time, China is the world’s largest IGBT market, and power semiconductors account for more than 50% of the world market. However, compared with the huge market, the market share of domestic IGBT companies is clearly behind that of large foreign-funded multinational companies. Through years of technology accumulation, BYD Semiconductor has caught up with the international level in the IGBT field and has grown to become the second largest company in China’s IGBT market with a market share of 19%.

Compared with other types of automotive-grade semiconductor devices, the power semiconductors that domestic chip manufacturers are self-developing are not restricted by the advanced manufacturing process of foundry technology. From a technical perspective, the products provided by domestic automotive-grade power device manufacturers have reached the international mainstream level.

However, because car manufacturers trust the original supply chain system more, domestic chip manufacturers generally face the problem of trust in downstream car manufacturers. Although domestic power device manufacturers have made achievements in the IGBT field, they still need to gain more market share.
